Castle update

It's been a while since I posted an updated photo of my progress on Neuschwanstein Castle. I haven't had a lot of time on this project in the past few weeks but I have made a bit more headway. I've finished with the sky and mountains and moved down to the greenery and the castle itself.

Neuschwanstein Castle

Sorry for the poor photo quality on this update; I didn't get a chance to take the photo until it was already dark outside. The days are definitely getting longer and although it'll take a couple of days to adjust, I'm looking forward to the clocks going forward this weekend so we have more evening daylight.

I'll leave you with a photo of some deliciousness I baked up yesterday:

Banana bread

Banana bread

Six mini-loaves of banana bread! I used the recipe for Best Ever Banana Bread in my Best of Bridge Best of the Best and More cookbook. (Wow, how many times can you use "best" in one sentence??) Even better than the banana bread was that I found these loaf pans at Michael's just before Christmas and they cost only $1 each!

Thanks for your comments on my last post and for stopping by!

Oh yummmm. I love banana bread and haven't made it in ages. I've been buying oodles of bananas but they always get eaten before I get a chance to bake with them!

Both of your stitching projects are coming right along!

The banana bread looks delicious. I don't make it very often because we like it too much in this house. LOL

The castle is progressing nicely! Your bread looks yummy!! I love the idea of several smaller breads. Do you have to adjust the baking time because the loaves are smaller? Or was the recipe written for 6 small loaves?

The recipe was written for 2 large loaves (55 minutes at 350F). I just kept checking the bread every 20 minutes or so. I think it took around 45 minutes for it to be done (all six loaves at one time).

Castle looks great!

I *heart* banana bread. I ate a whole loaf in 3 days last week. I love them slathered in butter. A friend suggested Nutella. I'm gonna have to bake a loaf to try it. :)
